About me
I’m Yeado Pi. I’m exploring the meeting point of public health, human-centered design, and healthy aging.
Education
I attended GIA Micro School from 2022 to 2026, studying under the Minerva Baccalaureate (MBacc) curriculum — a transdisciplinary program built on discussion, projects, and reflection rather than exams. Courses in literature, academic writing, and social-emotional learning shaped how I read, write, and work with other people, and Advanced Statistical Intuitions & Applications in my final year gave me tools I now lean on in research.
For my grade 11 capstone, our team designed a stress-relief project for adolescents around UN SDG 3, “Good Health and Well-being.” It was my first time framing a health question at the level of a community rather than an individual — asking how environments and daily routines shape well-being. That way of thinking stayed with me, and it is part of why “health” later came to mean everyday life for me — which led to my focus on public health and healthy aging.

After graduating from high school in June 2025, I continued developing projects while preparing to apply to universities in the United States. I plan to major in public health or human-centered design to better understand how the products and systems I design can contribute to healthy aging.
I studied math through the Korean curriculum, covering middle-school math through the high-school calculus elective — spanning algebra, geometry, statistics, and calculus — out of my own interest and to build a strong foundation for university. That preparation helped when I took AP Calculus BC, which I completed with a 5 (May 2026); other milestones include IELTS 7.5 overall (summer 2025), SAT 1550 (March 2026), and TOEFL iBT MyBest 5.5 (October 2026).
Intellectual interests
How can we identify older adults’ everyday needs and translate them into useful design requirements? My work on AgeLab, NoBend, and my RISE research explores this question at different scales—from a platform for sharing challenges to a tool for a specific daily routine.
Motivation & values
I value listening before proposing a solution, learning from everyday experiences, and being honest about what a project has—and has not—achieved. My goal is to support older adults’ independence while staying attentive to the people who care for them.

Now & next
I’m refining NoBend, a long-handled foot-care tool, and exploring how it could be tested and manufactured. Its Wadiz crowdfunding project was in review in October 2026. I’m also writing a RISE research paper on translating older adults’ needs into assistive-product design requirements, with completion planned for November 12, 2026 and review to follow.
